My friend Ruth sent me one of her paintings that she says was inspired by a scene in book 2. It’s gorgeous (like Ruth!). So much color!
So I had to tell her that I started on book 3 (about 5K words in, but I think I have to get beyond a certain point before I know if this will stick. All exploration right now). A tiny amount of crazy since I’m not done editing book 2.

My daughter’s 11-year-old friend, Tatiana, suggested the title for my book:
The Biggest Adventure in the Littlest World:
The White Goose
and I like it! The other option was The Dome of Tubes, which would have been a seriously hard drawing (I may still do that one, too).

I read here how this snow globe above was constructed and had no idea Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz used clay which was then fired. I used Sculpey for this and this, and had the worst time making those trees. Sculpey is hard to begin with, then it gets really soft but retains a springiness which I find difficult to work with, but that quality was really useful for the delicate parts.

My book comes in at 244 pages, black and white interior with a color cover, and a proof is $3.77. Blurb and Lulu proofs cost more (these are regular books, not proofs), and while Blurb is a couple of dollars higher than Lulu, their shipping cost is prohibitive for single books. They also charge per book for the removal of their logo.

Best color on interior pages: Lulu
For all three companies, white is a bleached white. Lulu has the best cream, and Amazon’s is the darkest.

I’m making all the parts for a snow globe, and this is tree #5, which is the best so far: that trunk is now sturdy enough for a person to pass through. There’s at least one more tree in my future, this one may be a little too tall. Definitely an exercise in patience.
