I read here how this snow globe above was constructed and had no idea Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz used clay which was then fired. I used Sculpey for this and this, and had the worst time making those trees. Sculpey is hard to begin with, then it gets really soft but retains a springiness which I find difficult to work with, but that quality was really useful for the delicate parts. I’m making all the parts for a snow globe, and this is tree #5, which is the best so far: that trunk is now sturdy enough for a person to pass through. There’s at least one more tree in my future, this one may be a little too tall. Definitely an exercise in patience.
